VSLA group   : ‘Basanti’
Address      : Ram Chak, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal
Loan Amount: INR 20,000 /- from AIMJ (Taken by Mita Rani Giri)

‘I am Mita Rani and belong to the BPL category. My husband named Mr. Jatu Giri is a daily wager, and we have two children. It was difficult to meet the family needs and expenses with what we he earns. In order to help the family I along with 9 other women formed an SHG group on advice of AIMJ pastor. We started saving Rs. 60 per month but we did not have any capital to do business. We regularly had meetings to discuss our problems with our members, community problems and development of the group and the AIMJ pastor teaches about our moral values as women members.

The AIMJ pastor sat with us and we prepared a business plan and estimate. With a fresh application and all other documents we again approached AIMJ who approved and sanctioned our loan amount of Rs. 20,000/- which we distributed equally among the members. With that loan our business grew up & I got good profit and saved more than Rs. 1600/- per month.  Now I became self supported and contribute to my family. My group is very united and four of us from the group attend the Sunday worship fellowship. I read the stories of the women in the Bible and inspiration and have fully in Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.
